Why This Album Is So Great:

When it comes to neurotic, sexually twisted, melodic rock music, you probably won't anything more worthy than this Placebo album. There are clear parallels to Suede and Radiohead but Placebo have their very own personality. Where Suede and Radiohead have become more "worldly", Placebo carry a huge cloud of claustrophobia and angst over their music. It creates a great tension which, combined with great melodic songs, make this second album from the band a great pleasure to listen to. You get everything from the more upbeat Cure-like popsongs like "You Don't Care About Us" to the intense and intimate ballads like "Burger Queen". If you're looking for music with personality and edge, it's hard to ignore this album!

Overall Rating (on a scale from 1 to 10): 9
